Adding a Chat Widget to Your Website
Put an AI chat on your website that answers from your knowledge base.
Go to Settings > Agents.
Create an Agent
Click New Agent: name, language, which knowledge topics it may use, a greeting, and Allowed Websites. Adding acme.com also allows its subdomains. The widget won't load anywhere until you add at least one domain.
Customise It
- Appearance: colour, position, light or dark mode, launcher icon and text, title, subtitle and avatar, with a live preview.
- Behaviour: which pages it shows on, open automatically, hide on phones, ask for an email first, business hours and an offline message.
Install
On Install, copy the Embed Code and paste it just before </body> on your site. New key issues a fresh widget key, and the old snippet stops working.
Test
Test Widget > Start test session lets you try it before going live.
Conversation Flows
The Flows tab builds guided conversations from blocks: Message, Buttons, Ask for input, Condition, AI answer, Book a meeting, Save as lead, Hand off, Send a survey and more. Start blank or from a template (Lead capture, Book a meeting, Support triage). Only published, active flows run.
Turn On AI Replies
The widget's AI replies stay off until "Website chat replies" is on in Settings > Agent Controls. Chats appear under Inbox > Website Chat.
